Tidal’s editorial released a playlist of the Hip-Hop songs they found most excellent so far throughout 2022. With Kendrick Lamar’s “N95” topping the chart, various 2022’s bangers appear throughout the list.
Nicki Minaj took a decent part of the chart with many of her recent features. Such include “Do We Have A Problem?” and “Bussin” with Lil Baby, together with “Blick Blick” with Coi Leray. Together with “N95,” another of Kendrick Lamar’s new album songs appears too (“Die Hard”).
With Hip-Hop veterans like Nicki and Kendrick, Gunna expectedly took a spot on the chart, thanks to his “pushin p” banger. This, however, is also not the only Future’s feature on the list. Lil Durk’s and Future’s “Petty Too,” along with Nardo Wick’s, Future’s, and Lil Baby’s “Me or Sum,” took their places on the chart.
If you’re seeking more alternative Hip-Hop this midsummer, check out “PAPERCUTS” by Vince Staples.
“Halfway through the year already, these are the best Hip-Hop songs up to today,” Tidal’s editorial informed in the description of their playlist. Do you agree?
Gunna’s Arrest & Bond Denial
While charting the Hip-Hop playlists, Gunna is also currently being held under detention for alleged racketeering with Young Thug. The evidence, in particular, includes the lyrics from the artist’s songs. The court also recently denied the artist’s release on bond. The “pushin p” author is currently to stay behind bars until 2023.
“As a Black man in America, it seems as though my art is only acceptable when I’m a source of entertainment for the masses,” Gunna also recently wrote a letter from jail. “My art is not allowed to stand alone as entertainment, I’m not allowed that freedom as a Black man in America. It is a sad reality that slavery is still alive in America today and still affecting my people. In 12 states more than half of the prison population is Black, one of those states is Georgia.”
