22-year-old YoungBoy Never Broke Again, aka NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell D. Gaulden, is one of the most streamed artists in the United States. Since 2017, he has been in trouble with the law. However, the situation appears to be improving.

NBA YoungBoy was found not guilty on July 15 of having a firearm and ammunition in Los Angeles. This charge stems from a separate federal arrest warrant that Youngboy issued in March 2021 for gun possession in the Los Angeles area. Moreover, in September 2020, the rapper was among 16 individuals accused of possessing guns and drugs during a video shoot in his hometown, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Considering that the “I Got The Bag” rapper has recently been found not guilty of the specific charge, he and his lawyers believe he should be released from house arrest. Among his house arrest conditions in Utah are using a GPS tracking device, incarceration at home, and pre-approved visitation privileges.

Due to this, his attorneys argue that house arrest rules should cease and impede his career as an artist. In addition, AllHipHop acquired court documents from Gaulden’s legal counsel requesting the modification of his bail order from October 2021.

“NBA YoungBoy was acquitted in a parallel prosecution concerning the firearm found inside of his car when he was arrested on the underlying warrant in this case,” said his attorneys. “We believe that a modification of bail is in order and that the current release conditions are more onerous than necessary to assure his appearance or protect the commencing from danger.”

As police officers pulled over the Baton Rouge rapper in his Mercedes Maybach in March 2021, he initially complied with them. Despite this, NBA was unaware of an outstanding federal warrant.

His nervousness led him to pull off and lead the police on a high-speed pursuit. A short time later, he abruptly exited his vehicle and sprinted away. Upon approaching the car, police officers discovered a pistol equipped with an FNX .45 caliber cartridge, ammunition, money, and jewelry.

Wise Decisions
Despite NBA’s recent acquittal, it is pertinent to note that we must make better decisions regarding firearms as a nation. A gun owner should ensure that the firearm is registered to avoid legal repercussions.

Furthermore, it is essential to maintain a clean record to the best of your ability. Criminal records that include misdemeanors or felonies may limit an individual’s opportunities in life. In life, things happen, which is understandable; however, some situations can be avoided. Lyrics in rap songs can reveal a great deal about an artist. In other words, be careful what you disclose to the public.
