Kodak Black Claims Racial Profiling As Reason for Latest Arrest
On July 15, Kodak Black was arrested. Police claim that the reason was that the tint of his car windows was too dark and he was driving with expired tags. However, Black is suggesting that it was because of racial profiling.
Black was arrested in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after the police had searched his car and found 31 pills of Oxycodone and $50,000. Bradford Cohen, Black’s lawyer, later revealed that the drugs were prescribed by his doctor. He was quickly bailed out. However, according to LA Times, a federal judge placed Black on house arrest. He is also to pay a $225,000 surety bond, do regular drug tests, and wear a GPS anklet. He is not allowed to leave the house unless for medical reasons, court appearances, or employment. Black must also give 48 hours notice before concerts. Any other reason must be cleared with his supervising officer.
According to Cohen, who talked to TMZ, the Oxycodone was for the chronic pain that Black has felt ever since he got shot during Super Bowl LVI weekend. There has not been a reason given for the thick wad of cash that he had on him.
Kodak Black rants on Twitter
Last night, Black went on a tirade on Twitter. He complained that the arrest was a character assassination for him.
Black claims he is going to sue the police over this.
He has people to make sure that his tints are not too dark and that his tags are not expired yet. The only reason why they might be after him is that they knew he was black and were racially profiling him. Black admits that this could be solved if he did not tint his windows. However, he is not willing to untint his car windows due to his celebrity status.
