iHeartMedia’s Black Information Network (BIN) has partnered with CareerBuilder to promote job openings for Black employees using the airwaves. CareerBuilder, a global leader in talent acquisition and the world’s top job marketplace platform, announced yesterday that they would collaborate on the “100,000 Careers” initiative. The platform aims to connect employers seeking a highly qualified and diverse workforce with Black American job seekers seeking advancement or new opportunities.

To build wealth in the Black community, it is imperative to provide the resources that will help create jobs. Moreover, long-term stability, substantial benefits, and a higher income level than the current situation.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Black unemployment in April was 5.9%, compared with the 3.6% national average. Over the next 20 years, Black employees are expected to lose $2.7 trillion in wages, according to CitiBank data.
“Black Americans’ unemployment rates are higher than the national average,” says Kristin Kelley, chief marketing officer at CareerBuilder.

“We want the partnership to help Black Americans navigate the journey of finding that job or that career and find well paying employment opportunities that are stable for them down the road.”

With 100,000 Careers, there are tools available to help you get started. There are numerous job listings, resume-building tools, and custom content designed to assist Black listeners in identifying their transferrable skills and discovering new career options.

To promote opportunities across a broadcast, podcast, digital, and social platforms, the platform will leverage the scale of BIN. In addition, a significant number of iHeartMedia Hip Hop, R&B, and Gospel stations are supporting this initiative by broadcasting opportunities for career advancement, real-life testimonials, high-frequency broadcast messages, podcasting, and streaming.
